God wants us to ask for big things. There is nothing outside the scope of prayer that is within the scope of his will.

Our prayer life should be much bigger than our own needs or those close to us.

Our prayer life should be much bigger than our own needs or those close to us.

And God?s will is vast and comprehensive. He wants all people saved and living under his rule. He also wants us to live under good earthly government that reflects his rule. This will bring about a peaceful and prosperous society in which gospel values can flourish. God asks us to pray that our nation would be saved, healed and restored. We are called to pray for a reformation of our nation. And, to do that, all the tools of prayer are at our disposal from simple requests to powerful intercession.

Key Thought

Our prayer life should be much bigger than our own needs or those close to us. We can develop a life of prayer that powerfully affects the destiny of nations. Just as there is not one tiniest detail of our lives God is not interested in, so there is also nothing too big we can ever ask of him.

Prayer

Lord, I ask for my nation today ? for peace, prosperity and for the values of the gospel to be upheld. Lord, save our nation and bring it under the influences of the kingdom of God.

Discipleship Steps

If you take seriously the call to pray for your nation, you will inform yourself fully concerning the world about you. Current affaires become prayer fuel as you take up the burden of prayer for your city or nation. Need is not measured merely in personal or individual terms. We are a people with a call to reform our entire nation. Ask God to lead you in your prayer life, alone and with others, into a higher dimension of prayer, and he most certainly will.
